FAQ
Instagram Story Downloader — what people ask
Can I download an expired story?
No; stories older than 24 hours can only be downloaded if they were added to highlights. Use the Highlight Downloader page for that.
Does the music in a story download too?
In video stories, the sound is inside the file. Music added to photo stories is kept separately on Instagram, so it doesn't download with the photo.
Are Close Friends stories visible?
No. Only public stories are listed.
Is it paid, do I need to sign up?
No. The tool is free; it doesn't require sign-up or logging in with your Instagram account.
Will the downloaded quality be low?
No. The highest-resolution file Instagram provides is downloaded as is; it isn't recompressed.
Where are the downloaded files saved?
On Android they go to the Downloads folder, on iPhone to the Files app. On iPhone you can open the video in Files and use Share › Save Video to move it to Photos.
The download button doesn't work, what should I do?
The buttons are valid for 1 hour. If they've expired, fetch the content again. If the post was deleted or the account was made private, it can't be downloaded.
